Expert Mode

WarningThis page documents exocad's software releases from 2024 on. See documentation for older versions

The Expert mode is the more advanced alternative to using the Wizard mode. In Expert mode, you can jump freely between the work steps, and you can use special Expert features. Furthermore, you can apply changes to certain teeth.

Expert Menus

To access work steps, functions, and tools in Expert mode, you can use the context menu and/or the Expert toolbar. The available functions, work steps, and tools depend on the project definition, the design progress, and what is selected in the DentalCAD screen (background or scene object/s).

Context Menu

Access the context menu by right-clicking the background or a scene object. The context menu will list all available options.

Expert Toolbar

You can access the Expert toolbar in two ways.

The first way is by hovering your mouse over the lighter-colored line at the bottom of the DentalCAD screen. The Expert toolbar slides open and you can select a work step or option by clicking the corresponding icon. The next work step in the Wizard steps sequence is highlighted in orange [1]. The available work steps and options vary depending on the design progress. You can also toggle the Pin [2] button to force the toolbar to stay open when possible. Use the arrow [3] or scroll using the mouse wheel to see more options . Expert mode 3.3.png

The second way is by clicking a scene object, or selecting multiple scene objects (hold CTRL while clicking). The Expert toolbar will then contain all available options for the selected object(s). Expert mode 3.3 2.png
